Default capping Sandstorm from the Drought - possible?

I've tried this mission several times and it doesn't seem to matter how many droughtlings are still alive. As soon as the Drought goes down the cutscene starts with no chance to cap.

Has anyone figured out a way to do this?

We capped it. We left the last two Droughtlings alive until we killed the Drought and capped it. Mission didn't end until the last two were dead. Use that Cap Sig quickly as soon as he dies.

I also capped Sandstorm from the drought. But, it was before both of the most recent updates so it is possible they changed it.

I left several alive this last time and it still ended as soon as boss died. Perhaps it's been changed or it's a matter of luck as to when the cutscene starts.

Well, I did the mission with one of my characters yesterday. I cleared all the Droughtlings except the two with the Drought itself, then left those two alive while we killed the boss. No cutscene until we killed the two Droughtlings closest to him.

Different thing happened with my monk though; the cutscene started straight away, and I had to cap it in a much harder location. Perhaps it is somewhat random, as Pkest said.

Good point, it's possible the cutscene is triggered when two things are true:
a)Drought is dead
2)A player is close enough to the back wall

I capped it from him on my Ele, you have to kill it before the Droughtlings in the area. Of course you want to anyway because he's going to blow you up otherwise.

If you can't cap it there, remember there is a boss later in the game with the skill.

Peace,
